Corrado Saija studied “Electro-acoustic composition” at the conservatory of music in Milan. The artist is known for his sound installations and projects in the field of theatre and soundtrack productions.
His debut album “Le Masque” shows the artist’s muscial diversity whilst at the same time being a statement and a commitment to calm. “Le Masque” is a record that arranges silence. One where the break is often times more important than the actual sound.
Harmonic pads are overlaid by dusky noise-timbres, melodic jazz fragments stand next to atonal synthetic-sounds. All of this has been set up in a minimalistic way and seems to follow its own rules in terms of arrangement: a laid-back sense of time, in all modesty, uncomplicated but at the same time very concentrated.
It is a view through the microscope and an invitation to enjoy even the tiniest of sound particles. This album is a counterpart to the overcharged turbo music of a society on speed.
